Divider is an expense splitting application that helps users track and manage shared expenses with friends and groups.
1. Information We Collect
- Full name and email address (required for account creation)
- Expense titles, amounts, and descriptions you enter
- Group names and member information
- Device information for app functionality
2. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide the expense splitting service
- To send account-related emails such as OTP verification and password reset
- To display your balance and expense history
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties
3. Data Storage and Security
- Your data is stored securely on our servers
- Passwords are never stored in plain text
- All communication between the app and server uses secure connections
4. Data Retention
- Your data is retained as long as your account is active
- You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time
5. Account Deletion
Divider is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and you become aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us at support@divider.in and we will promptly delete that information.
You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us at support@divider.in. When we receive a deletion request, we will use your registered email address to confirm that the request came from you.
Please note that account deletion requires all outstanding balances with other users to be settled first. Once all balances are cleared, we will process your deletion request within 7–10 business days.
Deleting your account results in the permanent removal of all personal data associated with your account, including your name, email address, phone number, and password. Once deleted, this data will not be retrievable and you will no longer be able to log in.
Please be aware that, even if you choose to delete your account, all non-personal information concerning shared expenses will still appear in each applicable member's account that remains after your account is deleted. In that case, your personal information (name and contact information) will not appear.
